Orchestra Conductor

Cindy Egolf - Orchestra Conductor

Artistic expression through igniting imagination and uniting creativity

Debussy’s “Afternoon of a Faun” is the musical story of a young deer slowly awakening under the dappled sunlight in a forest. It is a sultry, passionate, drowsy moment as the oboe’s melody lures the faun out of its sleep. After I conducted a performance of this masterpiece, the oboist came to me and said, “When you cued me to enter with my solo, I could have just melted in your arms.” The oboist and the story and the music became one.
